Mitigation Plan Will Expand Baker Wetlands

The Kansas DOT is funding an expansion of the wetlands including 142 acres west of Louisiana. This mitigation project will cost $975,000. The state doesn't yet have the $148 million necessary to build to road itself.

Because of a lawsuit brought by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. All the W's on uniforms, helmets, basketball courts, and almost everywhere it is used will change to the new Washburn logo.

I ran across this article in the Eudora News about the history of the name Blue Jacket. While doing some on-line research I ran across this page with more info about the Wakarusa River and Blue Jacket Crossing.

Jacob Perron, a Topeka boy with cerebral palsy and other disabilities wasn't able to play in his back yard until the Dream Factory stepped in to help.
The dream factory has been responsible for granting 30 dreams in Topeka in the last 4 years.
